Japanese tourists are considered to be not very good by tourists from overseas. It is a shame of Japan.I think there is a timing, but it is recommended not to go if you want to travel the best Kanazawa.

Really nice people in a beautiful old house. The matcha treats were great. Try the roasted tea stem parfait of you want a cool and decadent treat with a “little bit of everything” going on.

It’s a good cafe to take a break from sightseeing in Higashi Chayagai. Good dessert and matcha. Didn’t try their coffee but smelled really great. If you get to pstairs it has a high ceiling and you can overlook the main street. Enjoyable view of many swallows going back and forth, busily getting food for their babies under the roof of machiya (old traditional houses) in May.

I ordered another one and it was sold only if it was a set ... The only real tea room in the Higashichaya that doesn't play the exclusivity of the area card, i.e. welcoming, friendly service and a fair price. Nice view on the districy street from the 2F, good matcha and wagashi (small sweets that are eaten with matcha). They also have a few other things on the menu, but you need to try matcha and wagashi at least once while in the district. Bilingual menu and free wifi available.

The tea chiffon cake was really good! Super moist and the whipped cream was very light. Not too sweet overall. Paired well with the cafe latte, but what doesn't??

Great service in cozy tea house. Upstairs and downstairs available. Iced green tea with namagashi (fresh red bean treat) 900 yen for the set or 600 for the tea only. Everyone agreed that the “roasted” green tea kakigori (Japanese shaved ice) 900 yen was awesome. Haven’t seen that flavor anywhere else in japan.

I got shaved ice such as Hojima! The syrup was really really sweet and my throat got tough, it was quite unusual shaved ice.
